Simon Brooks

"My name is Simon and I come from a village called Dinas Powys near Cardiff in South Wales. I have been working as Assistant Director of Studies at BKC's Globus School of Modern Languages and also teaching at the MBA Centre since I arrived in Moscow in February 2004, and it has been a great pleasure to work with so many enthusiastic students, who have since gone on to reach their objective in their careers or further studies either here in Russia or overseas in such places as Canada, the U.S., Australia and the U.K.
I started teaching in Madrid back in 1995, but it was in London where I worked from 2000 to 2004 that I specialised in exam classes such as TOEFL, IELTS and also TOIEC. During this period I was lucky enough to meet and have my class observed by Sue O'Connell, the author of Focus on IELTS, one our most widely used books at the MBA Centre.
I enjoy working at the MBA Centre. From the first time I came everyone has been so welcoming with teachers and students alike. I hope to be continuing with the MBA Centre for a long time to come."
Lukas Andzejewski
Hi, My name's Lukas. Six years ago, in a small yacht, I left the port of Murmansk to navigate round the Kola Peninsula. Over a month later, having crossed the White Sea Canal, the boat entered the Neva River's waters.

The memory of this trip brought me back to Russia in 2006. Since then, I have been teaching English in Moscow.
I am Polish and Polish is my native tongue, but I have been speaking English for the last 18 years of my life. Even though I studied other languages at schools - French, German and Russian; English remained of more interest to me, and soon became the main foreign language I spoke. Nevertheless, I had't had a real life experience of using it, and in 1999, I took a break from my studies and went for a year to England. A year stretched into 5 years in total; I still managed to finish my university in Poland, though.
I enjoyed my time in England, where I took my English teaching qualifications: TEFL and CELTA, but the expansion of the European Union resulted in an enormous influx of my compatriots into the UK and the country lost its exoticness to me. It was then that I recalled my cruise in Russia and decided to move all the way East.
Working with BKC, I have taught a wide range of classes; from 6 year-old pupils to pensioners studying before moving to Canada to resettle with their children and grandchildren; from beginners to advanced groups. However, for the last half a year I have been teaching TOEFL and IELTS exam classes only, which I love doing.
Zhenja Bakin

Hi! My name is Zhenja Bakin and some people call me Z. I love teaching English and I try to make my classes interesting and unusual. I'm a goal-oriented person, which means that I set clear aims and do my best to achieve them. I like complete relaxation mixed with intensive work and absolutely prefer fun over boredom. My teaching career is diverse. For a couple of years I taught teenagers in a private school in Moscow, got a Fulbright scholarship, spent a year teaching Russian at Rhodes College, Memphis, TN and earned CELTA (Cambridge certificate for English language teachers). My professional interests include motivation in the classroom and teaching with Internet. In spare time I dance (mostly Lindy Hop which is a strange looking pair dance with big-band swing music), play in a jazz band, run in the park and travel around.
My favorite saying is "If there is a will, there is a way". Do you have a will?
Noel Famatiga

"My name is Noel.
With passion for teaching at the MBA, my colleagues and I are an association of teachers from different countries, cultures and backgrounds with one goal-to teach well. As a whole, we are a concoction of diverse dictions, knowledge and experiences. I, myself grew up in the United States and have taught English in several counties.
Some other factors that make teaching enjoyable at the MBA Center can be attributed to the wonderful staff and Russian students. I have accumulated titillating accounts of amazing students whom I label “pistols” when it comes to their attitude and success in taking the exams after training at the MBA Centre.
My wife and I have enjoyed living in Russia and traveling around the world. We enjoy little things like shitake mushrooms in Japanese restaurants or Pad Thai without flying to Bangkok. Suckers for travel and adventure, we have taken advantage of trips in Russia."
